Lovense Nora: the rabbit that answers a partner's Max 2

On its own, the Nora is a well-specified app-controlled rabbit. Paired with a partner's Max 2, it becomes half of the best-known long-distance combination Lovense makes. Both roles are worth understanding before you buy.

The verdict

The Nora is the device to choose if you want a rabbit with genuine app and long-distance control, and the obvious one if your partner has or wants a Max 2: the two-way pairing is what sets it apart. It is handheld, so it suits sessions where the person using it is happy to hold it, and Lovense publishes less detail about it than about the Lush range.

Worth it if

  • Long-distance couples building a two-way pair with a partner's Max 2
  • First-time rabbit buyers who want app control with buttons as a fallback
  • Anyone who wants rotation and vibration adjustable separately

Look elsewhere if

  • People who want a wearable they do not have to hold
  • Buyers who want full published specifications before buying
  • Anyone who wants to avoid apps and accounts entirely, beyond the handle buttons

How it scores against our criteria

Every review is assessed against the method we publish. Read the method.

Remote control architecture
Internet-based control through the Lovense Remote app, so a partner can control it from anywhere. The Nora is also one of Lovense's controller toys: its movement can drive a partner's device in real time.
The pairing with the Max 2
Lovense documents two-way control between the two: the Max 2's contraction and vibration drive the Nora's rotation and vibration, while the Nora's movement drives the Max 2's contraction. It is the clearest example in the range of both partners influencing each other at once.
Independent control
The rotating head and the vibrating arm are controlled separately, from the app or from the buttons on the handle. The buttons mean it still works when the phone is not to hand.
Battery and care
Up to 170 minutes of use and 75 minutes for a full charge, by Lovense's figures. IPX7, so it can be rinsed and cleaned simply.
Published detail
Lovense publishes fewer specifications for the Nora than for the Lush range: no weight or detailed material table on its page beyond 'body-safe materials'. That is not a fault in the device, but it leaves more to trust.

Rabbit vibrators are a familiar shape. What makes the Nora different is not the shape but what it connects to: an app that lets a partner control it from anywhere, and a pairing with the Max 2 that lets two devices respond to each other.

On its own

The Nora has a rotating head and a separately controlled vibrating arm. Both can be adjusted in the Lovense Remote app, with custom patterns and long-distance control, or from the buttons on the handle when the app is not open. Lovense positions it for first-time rabbit users, and the independent controls support that: each motion can be found and set on its own.

With a partner's Max 2

This is the Nora's real argument. In two-way control, the Max 2's contraction and vibration set the Nora's rotation and vibration, and the Nora's movement sets the Max 2's contraction, so each partner is responding to the other at the same time, over any distance. Our guide to long-distance toys that work as a pair explains how one-way and two-way control differ, and the setup guide covers the steps.

Updated

Most long-distance devices let one person control the other. A few go further: each partner's device reacts to the other's in real time. Here is how that works, which combinations do it, and what to check first.

Updated

Long-distance control is what Lovense devices are best known for, and setting it up takes a few minutes. Here is what each partner needs, the steps in order, the three ways to share control, and what to check when it does not connect.
